Survey Manager
Responsibilities
- Delivers a comprehensive set of surveying and mapping services to clients as their single point of contract.
- Uses creativity, foresight, and mature judgements in anticipating and solving unprecedented problems.
- Makes decisions and recommendations that are authoritative and have an important impact on extensive organizational activities.
- Sets priorities and reconciles directions from competing interests.
- Works on programs with complex features.
- Directs, controls, and supervises survey work and survey crews.
- Mentors and shares lessons and skills learned with less-experienced staff
- Develops standards and guidelines.
- Led the organization in survey standards and practice.
- 10+ Years Bachelor’s degree in surveying, Master’s degree or equivalent, engaged in life-long learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues
- Licensed Land Surveyor in California (preferred) or relevant experience.
- Obtain licensing as required for project support.
- Member of professional practice organization, national board member or officer, recognized expert on statewide activity, resource for national activities and organization.(recommended)

The Survey Manager is responsible for supervising the entire survey team. They will recommend facilities, personnel, and funds required to carry out programs. They will oversee the technical, legal, and financial issues of the entire survey department. They will also determine program objectives and requirements, develop standards and guidelines.
