Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist with field data collection using total stations, GPS/GNSS systems, levels, and data collectors
- Set up and break down surveying instruments and equipment at job sites
- Take clear and accurate field notes, including sketches and descriptions of field conditions
- Absorb measurements and stakeout activities for boundaries, topographic surveys, utilities, and construction projects
- Ensure proper care, calibration, and organization of survey tools and equipment
- Load and unload field vehicles with necessary materials and supplies
- Operate tools such as sledgehammers, shovels, machetes, and chainsaws
- Follow company and industry safety practices and wear required PPE at all required times
- Communicate effectively with the survey crew chief and other field personnel to complete assignments efficiently
- Work in varied terrain and weather conditions for extended periods
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Preferred experience operating surveying equipment and using TOPCON Magnet software
- Preferred skills in field surveying, data collection
- Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively with a team
- Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate project deadlines
- Ability to work out of town and adapt to different schedules, including nighttime or third shift work
- Detail oriented, quality conscious, reliable and self-motivated
- Valid state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record
