Survey Field Technician I

Responsibilities

• Complete a variety of professional assignments to facilitate the completion of roads, bridges, building sites, recreational areas, retracement of surveys, and establishment of property corners.
• Carry out a range of surveying assignments while learning the methods of the work.

Requirements

• Must be physically able to work outdoors and on construction sites under all weather conditions and terrains.
• Must be dependable.
• Must pass a drug test if required.
• Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record and be able to maintain a valid driver’s license.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Basic math competency, have knowledge or able to learn survey computer programs, and survey computations applicable to the work.
• Familiarize yourself with the nomenclature and symbols of drafting, the surveying instruments and equipment and their use and care as well as the principles and practices of land surveying.
• Use basic calculator and the ability to make arithmetic computations accurately and record results legibly.
• Able to follow directions.
• Must be able to pass DOT drug/alcohol testing and ability to pass a background check.
• Willing and able to travel for extended periods for out of town work.
• Physically able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and terrains.
• Able to repetitively stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes, in addition to ability to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED is required.

The salary range for this position is $46,000-$59,000 annually in our Lanham, MD office.
