Position Overview We’re seeking a Survey Field Technician who enjoys working outdoors, solving problems on the fly, and collecting precise data that brings land development projects to life. You’ll work alongside experienced surveyors and engineers, using GPS, total stations, and other equipment to support boundary, topographic, and construction staking surveys. Key Responsibilities Conduct topographic, boundary, and construction staking surveys using GPS, total stations, and data collectorsAccurately collect and record field data in accordance with project requirementsCollaborate with the Survey Crew Chief, project teams, and contractors to ensure precise data collection and stakingMaintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot field equipment as neededRead and interpret survey notes, plans, and maps to guide fieldworkEnsure all field activities follow company standards, OSHA safety procedures, and applicable regulationsTravel to job sites daily; work in a variety of field conditions and weather environments What You Bring High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, or a related field preferredMinimum 2 years of field surveying experience preferredExperience operating GPS units, total stations, and data collectorsFamiliarity with Trimble equipment is a plusStrong understanding of surveying principles, techniques, and instrumentsExcellent attention to detail and problem-solving skillsPhysical ability to lift 50 lbs., stand for long periods, bend, twist, and perform repetitive tasksValid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to project sitesUnderstanding of OSHA safety standards and Illinois labor lawsCommitment to professional integrity and non-discrimination policies Why Work with Us in the Field Opportunity to Grow On-the-job training & career development pathsSupportive team environment with experienced mentorsOpportunities to move up and build a long-term career Strong Team Culture Team events, book club, and all-company gatheringsInclusive workplace where everyone’s voice countsCompany match for donations to causes you care about Rewarding Compensation Compensation: $22-30/hourly rateThe hourly range provided is a general guideline.
