Survey Field Technician

Legacy Engineering is a woman-owned civil engineering firm specializing in land development design, geotechnical services, construction materials testing and inspections, land surveying, planning consulting, and environmental services. Headquartered in Fredericksburg, Virginia, we serve clients throughout the Commonwealth and beyond. We are seeking a highly motivated team player to join our team as a Field Survey Technician.

Responsibilities

• Assist and work with Survey Party Chiefs in the field
• Become familiar with Survey grade instruments such as robots, drones and GPS
• Read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans
• Observe and document field activities
• Other duties may be assigned

Skills

• No experience necessary
• Willing to work 8+ hours per day outside in various elements
• Willing to wear provided PPE and take instruction from Survey Party Chiefs
• Possess quality and focused skills in problem solving, analytical and critical thinking as well as having interpersonal and people skills to work in a team environment
• Able to multi‑task and prioritize work

Pay

The compensation range for this position is $18 to $20 per hour, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description.
