Survey Field Technician

Responsibilities

• Assists with field data collection (i.e. use of a prism pole, level rod, etc.) and assigned safety related activities.
• Ability to set up appropriate survey instrument to perform the requested job, including total stations, GPS receivers, levels, LiDAR sensors, etc. to achieve the required field information.
• Assists the Survey Party Chief, as needed, with field activity logs and results, safety forms and permits
• Operate equipment and assist with operations support tasks such as maintaining assigned equipment, tools, and cleanliness, organization and stocking of warehouse spaces.
• Promote a sound safety culture based on understanding risks and hazards and taking appropriate action

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and be 18 years or older
• Position requires great flexibility, with the possibility of out-of-town travel as needed by specific projects
• Position requires working outdoors
• Able to perform physical work and lift and carry heavy equipment when required
• Valid Florida driver’s license and clean driving record
• Must have own transportation
• Operation of field equipment
• Working knowledge of survey instruments
• Knowledge of Trimble data collectors, Total Stations and GPS receivers
• Software comprehension of AutoCAD, Civil3D, MicroStation, GeoPak and general computer skills preferred
