Survey Data Processor II

About the role

As a Data Processor, you will inspect, process, analyze, and validate marine survey data to ensure accurate, high-quality deliverables that support offshore energy, subsea infrastructure, and mapping projects. This role applies industry best practices and specialized survey software to transform complex datasets into actionable project information.

Responsibilities

• Ensure project specifications are met using industry best-practice techniques and software.
• Analyze and interpret resulting datasets and clearly communicate project findings.
• Perform meticulous data management and contribute to reports and other deliverables.
• Process marine survey data both onboard survey vessels and provide onshore support as needed.
• Process and analyze data in one or more of the following market areas: Offshore O&G projects, submarine cable/pipeline routing, and government mapping projects.
• Draft preliminary reports on data findings according to project specifications.
• Perform multi-beam, backscatter, and single-beam processing utilizing technical software.
• Work with GPS and motion reference positioning systems, calibration techniques, and data processing.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
• 0–1 years’ experience in the Survey or Geoscience industry as a Survey Professional.
• Multi-beam, backscatter, and single-beam processing experience utilizing technical software.
• Knowledge of GPS and motion reference positioning systems, calibration techniques, and data processing.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
• Must be able to obtain a valid Passport and any other regionally mandated offshore work requirement documents as appropriate.

Qualifications

• Two (2) year Technical Degree or higher in a related field of study preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent desired.
• Proficiency with survey software.
• Current security clearance or ability to obtain security clearance.

Working Conditions

• Outdoors and indoors, day and night, as well as over/near water.
• Requires working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment.
• Frequently, the humidity is above 90%, noise is over 85 decibels, and the light is intense/glare.
• Potential exposure to open fire/flames/sparks.
• Constant exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases.
• Work surface is stable, height is elevated.
