Data Steward II
About the role
Edward Jones Data Management and Stewardship is seeking a Data Steward II to lead the organization in maximizing the value, quality, trust and understanding of our branch real estate (BRE) data. The Data Steward promotes the firm's commitment to clean, reliable and accurate data by acting as a function of the firm's data governance framework to ensure data is cared for through its complete lifecycle, as an enterprise asset.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary data stewardship contact for assigned business areas, advancing enterprise data priorities through the firm's data certification and governance framework.
- Define, document, and govern data standards, ensuring appropriate usage, context, security, privacy, quality, and integrity across data domains.
- Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on the effective use of data in both operational and analytical environments.
- Support data lifecycle management activities, including data curation, lineage, taxonomy, classification, and governance oversight.
- Develop and implement data quality rules, monitor performance metrics, and drive adherence to data quality and governance standards.
- Partner with Data Advisors and business stakeholders to identify, define, and document data in support of regulatory, legal, audit, and strategic initiatives.
- Lead discussions and resolution efforts related to data quality, integration, reconciliation, and governance issues, recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Prepare metrics, reporting, and insights on data domain health, governance compliance, and ongoing improvement opportunities.
Requirements
Previous Experience in Data Stewardship, Data Governance, Data Management, Data Quality, Data Analysis or Data Modeling in the wealth Management/Financial Services Industry.
Experience interacting with various database and file storage systems (DB2, Oracle, Snowflake), using Data manipulation language/SQL and creating technical documentation/lineage preferred.
Experience working with Data Governance tools – Collibra, Informatica, Alation- Familiarity with Data Governance concepts and best practices, including Data quality, privacy, metadata documentation, and Data certification.
Experience with Jira and Agile methodologies.

- Proficient relationship management, interpersonal, collaboration and negotiation skills – Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
- Motivated to understand and keep current with relevant Industry trends and best practices as well as strong critical thinking skills and ability to navigate ambiguous situations.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects along with recurring responsibilities, and adjust to changing priorities.
- Ability to drive change and lead/influence others without formal authority- Ability to identify new business processes and data usage to promote efficiency and reliability.
- Troubleshooting skills to investigate, resolve, and escalate problems. Identify need for technical assistance to help in problem resolution.
Skills
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices.
- Experience with SQL and data manipulation languages.
- Familiarity with data quality rules and monitoring tools.
- Experience with Jira and Agile methodologies.

Pay
Compensation provided for using, not obtaining, the rating.
Schedule
Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week effective June 1, 2026. Before June 1, 2026, candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.
