As a Zebra Data Steward, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring data integrity, availability, and usability for strategic and operational decision-making. This hybrid position (3 days/week in office) is based in Holtsville, NY, with an expected start in 2027.

Responsibilities

• Provide authoritative business data stewardship over internal and external data, aligning with business objectives.
• Collaborate with operational teams to identify and document data requirements and use case scenarios.
• Define and document data policies, including standards for descriptions, formats, structures, and acquisition modalities.
• Implement measures to safeguard data integrity and establish validation and auditing protocols.
• Identify and address root causes of data disparities, leading initiatives to improve data quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Create and execute plans for data integrity improvements, communicating progress to stakeholders.
• Generate reports and dashboards to provide insights into data quality and compliance.
• Identify and drive corrective actions for repeat non-compliance with data standards.
• Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to optimize data storage, retrieval, and accessibility.
• Facilitate communication between data producers and consumers to ensure effective use of data assets.
• Manage data dictionary and lineage entries in Zebra’s enterprise data atlas tool.
• Oversee change management processes for data-related changes, ensuring stakeholder alignment and communication.
• Provide training and support to enhance data literacy and promote best practices.
• Act as the point of contact for data-related inquiries and issues, offering solutions and guidance.
• Train and mentor lower-level data stewards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, ideally in Data Management, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Data Science, or related fields.
• 3+ years of proven experience in data stewardship, governance, management, science, or analytics.

Preferred Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Zebra Technologies Internship.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., PBI, Tableau, MS Excel).
• Deep knowledge of data lineage, validation, and remediation techniques.
• Experience with data cleansing and correcting discrepancies.
• Familiarity with data catalog and governance systems (e.g., Alation).
• Understanding of Conceptual, Logical, and Physical data models.
• Ability to work autonomously and lead high-impact initiatives.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative mindset.
• Prior experience managing outsourced services.

Pay

$68,400.00 - $102,600.00 annually, with a performance-based annual cash incentive target of 5% of base pay.
