About the role
This position will be on a field crew assisting a Party Chief by operating conventional and GPS survey equipment to accurately and efficiently measure topographic features and boundary evidence in support of land development, transportation, utility, and energy projects. The typical work week is Monday through Friday, starting at 7:30am. Overtime and weekend work may be required on an as needed basis.
Responsibilities
- Operate Robotic, conventional, and GPS survey equipment to measure topographic features and boundary evidence accurately and efficiently in support of land development, route, utility, and other land surveying projects.
- Assist the Party Chief in conducting land development, boundary, design, topographic, and ALTA surveys.
- Ensure accuracy and precision in all surveying activities.
Requirements
- Prior experience as a surveyor working on topographic surveys, ALTA and boundary surveys, or construction staking.
- Experience with Trimble GPS and Conventional equipment.
- Understanding of Computer Technology.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Able to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong ability to ensure accuracy (very little room for error).
- Ability and willingness to follow instructions that may be written or delivered verbally.
- Dependable and responsible regarding punctuality and attendance.
- Able to start work at 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday.
- Overtime and weekend work may be needed to meet project deadlines.
- Travel generally, up to two weeks at a time will be required for the position, up to 25%.
Qualifications
- Prefer 1 year of experience as a surveyor working on topographic surveys, ALTA and boundary surveys, or construction staking.
- Prefer experience with Trimble GPS and Conventional equipment.
Skills
- Understanding of Computer Technology.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Able to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong ability to ensure accuracy (very little room for error).
- Ability and willingness to follow instructions that may be written or delivered verbally.
