Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Land Survey Crew Chief to lead field operations for construction layout, ALTA, boundary, and topographic surveys. The role is ideal for a Senior Survey Technician or Assistant Crew Chief ready to advance to a leadership position, or a current Crew Chief looking for a more dynamic environment.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and conduct fieldwork for boundary, topographic, ALTA, as-built, and construction layout surveys
- Supervise, train, and mentor field crew members
- Operate and maintain Trimble GPS and robotic total station equipment
- Ensure accuracy in data collection, field notes, and measurements
- Interpret and execute survey instructions from project managers and engineers
- Cookordinate field activities and communicate project needs with the office team
- Follow all safety policies and procedures on-site
- Assist with process improvements and implement new survey technologies
- Represent CAGE professionally on job sites and with clients
What You Bring
- A high school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree in Surveying or related field preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of land surveying experience, with at least 2 in a leadership/supervisory role
- Proficient with GPS, robotic total stations, and data collectors
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, survey notes, and construction drawings
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various outdoor conditions
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and survey software (preferred)

Work Environment
The role is based out of our Venice, FL office, with frequent fieldwork at nearby project sites. You'll work alongside engineers, project managers, and other survey professionals in a collaborative environment that values both independent initiative and teamwork.
