Survey CAD Technician III
About the role
Supports office and field staff by processing incoming information and producing final land surveying project deliverables.
Reports to the Project Manager and performs technical tasks utilizing the latest technology in the A/E/C industry.
Increases project efficiency and client satisfaction by processing data utilizing SAM standards, evaluating accuracy and sufficiency, and ensuring compliance to applicable land survey project and industry principles under the direction of your supervisor.
Maintains quality assurance by monitoring field crew's production and performing quality control checks of plats, drawings, and deliverables prepared by other technicians.
Coordinates with supervisor to ensure client-specific demands are being met.
Responsibilities
- Process incoming information and produce final land surveying project deliverables.
- Utilize the latest technology in the A/E/C industry to perform technical tasks.
- Evaluate accuracy and sufficiency of data processed.
- Evaluate compliance to applicable land survey project and industry principles.
- Monitor field crew's production and quality assurance.
- Prepare survey plats and drawings, legal descriptions, and alignment drawings.
- Perform quality control checks of plats, drawings, and deliverables prepared by other technicians.
- Coordinate with supervisor to ensure client-specific demands are being met.
Requirements
- 5+ years field and office experience in route survey projects, boundary analysis, DTM projects, and construction layout and data processing.
- Strong computer and technical skills; AutoCAD Civil 3D required; MicroStation is a plus.
- Proficiency in technical math; Geometry and Trigonometry are a plus.
- Familiarity with GIS platforms is a plus, but not necessary.
- S.I.T. Certification is a plus, but not necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in surveying, civil engineering, or a related field.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
