About the role

As a Survey CAD Technician at Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM), you will play a key role in transforming field information into accurate, high-quality deliverables that support impactful projects. You will work alongside our Survey, Aerial, and SUE teams, gaining exposure to cutting-edge technology in the A/E/C industry while building your technical skills and career.

Responsibilities

  • Process survey data in accordance with SAM standards, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project and industry requirements
  • Perform quality control checks on field data and deliverables, with increasing responsibility based on experience
  • Maintain oversight of field crew production and support quality assurance efforts
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and team members to meet client-specific requirements and project timelines
  • Assist with or lead more complex drafting tasks, problem-solving, and workflow improvements

Requirements

  • Experience in surveying, geomatics, or a related field, with a solid understanding of land surveying principles and workflows
  • Proven ability to process and evaluate survey data independently, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project and industry standards
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, with the ability to produce high-quality deliverables efficiently
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, including proficiency in geometry and trigonometry as applied to surveying tasks
  • Experience performing quality control on survey data and deliverables, with the ability to identify issues and coordinate solutions with field teams
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and support project timelines
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • SIT (Surveyor-in-Training) certification or CST (Certified Survey Technician) designation is a plus

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a relevant degree program or equivalent experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a background check
