Survey CAD Technician Job Summary
The Survey CAD Technician is responsible for producing accurate survey drawings, maps, plats, and exhibits using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software. This role supports a variety of surveying projects through CAD drafting, survey data processing, and coordination with survey and project teams. Occasional field support may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare survey maps, plats, exhibits, and construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Process field data and survey computations for boundary, ALTA/NSPS, topographic, utility, and construction staking projects.
- Maintain CAD files, project documentation, and deliverables.
- Perform quality control reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with surveyors and project teams to meet project schedules and budgets.
- Support occasional field surveying activities and site observations.
- Manage multiple projects while maintaining strong organization and attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of survey drafting experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience processing survey data and computations.
- Knowledge of boundary, ALTA/NSPS, topographic, and construction surveys.
- Familiarity with Trimble Business Center, GPS data, and survey workflows.
- Understanding of metes and bounds descriptions.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- CST or SIT certification.
- Prior field surveying experience.
- Experience creating survey exhibits and plats.
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and grow within the surveying profession.
Work Environment
Primarily office-based with a focus on CAD drafting and survey data processing. Occasional field work may be required. The role offers the opportunity to work with modern surveying technologies in a collaborative, quality-focused environment.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Addison, TX. This is a fully onsite position in Addison, TX.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
