Surgical Technologist- Same Day Surgery

About the role

The Surgical Technologist (ST) functions as an integral member of a team of care providers in the Operating Rooms of the Perioperative Services at the OSU Medical Center. The team consists of the Surgeon, Anesthesiologist, Patient Care Coordinator – Registered Nurse (PCC-RN), Surgical Technologist (ST), Student Surg Tech (SST), Perioperative Technician, Anesthesia Technician and Office Assistants.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and supportive services that are directed towards achieving patient care outcomes, improving customer service levels, reducing the length of hospitalization and decreasing costs.
• Work cooperatively with the Surgeon, Anesthesiologist, PCC-RN, SST, Perioperative Technician, Anesthesia Technician and Office Assistants to ensure seamless patient care.
• Support the patient and their family through the integrated skills of all care team members.

Requirements

• Must be a high school graduate or possess the GED.
• Must have completed formal Surgical Technology Training Program.
• Previous experience in the Operating Room as Surgical Technologist is preferred.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications for hire include:

• Completion of a formal Surgical Technology Training Program.
• Previous experience in the Operating Room as Surgical Technologist is preferred.
