Responsibilities

• Performs technical skill duties in all operating room specialty service areas.
• Maintains, assembles, handles, and sterilizes specialty instrumentation.
• Assists Registered Professional Nurses in the intra-operative phase of the nursing practice.
• Compiles accurate and complete documentation of surgical cases on operating room record.
• Participates in the orientation of new operating room personnel.
• Participates in operating room staff development through in-service education programs, conferences, and research projects.
• Participates in nursing/hospital committees as requested.
• Accepts on-call rotation.
• Performs job functions adhering to service principles with a customer service focus of innovation, service excellence, and teamwork.
• Demonstrates knowledge of pertinent aspects and competency with protocols related to the use of chemical disinfection, high level disinfection, and sterilization.

Requirements

• High School education or equivalent and completion of a Surgical Technologist Program required.
• Three years of experience as an operating room technician desirable.
• Certification as surgical technologist is preferred.
• Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED (Required)
• (CST) - Certified Surgical Technologist - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting

Skills

• Knowledge of pertinent aspects and competency with protocols related to the use of chemical disinfection, high level disinfection, and sterilization.

Pay

$26.25-$42.92 Hourly

Ranges are regularly reviewed to stay aligned with market conditions.
