Surgical Technologist - Outpatient

About the role

Assists surgical teams in the Operating Room and clinic with procedures and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the OR and organize equipment, including for emergency cases.
• Assist surgeons during procedures as a scrub person, handling instruments efficiently and maintaining sterility.
• Support circulating nurses with instrument, needle, and sponge counts.
• Operate and maintain OR machinery and sterilization equipment, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Assist with patient transport to the OR and sterilization processes, including decontamination and assembly of surgical tools.
• Contribute to staff training and orientation.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program.
• Preferred certification as a Certified Surgical Tech (CST) and 1–3 years of experience.
• Strong communication skills, visual acuity, and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Commitment to safety, confidentiality, and adherence to healthcare standards.
