About the Role

The Surgical Technician III will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide assistance during surgical procedures. This role is experienced in all aspects of aseptic technique, setting up required equipment and sterile supplies, pulling cases as needed, and breaking down cases post-procedure. The technician is knowledgeable about instrumentation, equipment, and supply needs for various surgical procedures and performs duties consistent with their scope of practice.

Responsibilities

  • Assist during surgical procedures in the department.
  • Set up required equipment and sterile supplies for assigned cases.
  • Pull cases as needed and break down cases at the end of procedures.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in aseptic technique and knowledge of instrumentation for multiple service lines/specialties.
  • Handle medications, syringes, needles, etc., with accountability to the registered nurse for oversight.
  • Communicate positively and professionally with all internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Current AHA or ARC BLS Certification.
  • State of Colorado Surgical Registry (DORA) required.
  • Current CST Certification from NBSTSA preferred.
  • Graduate of a Certification program for Operating Room Technicians.
  • 3 or more years of experience as a Surgery Technician preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge in the scrub role and demonstrated proficiency in multiple service lines/specialties.
  • Good organizational skills.
