Surgical Technologist OB III
About the role
Position Summary: The Surgical Technician III will be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide assistance during surgical procedures performed in the department. The Surgery Technician III is experienced in all aspects of aseptic technique, setting up the required equipment and sterile supplies as needed for their assigned cases, pulling cases as needed, and breaking down cases at the end of the procedure. He/she is knowledgeable regarding instrumentation, equipment and supply needs for all types of surgical procedures. The Surgery Technician III performs delegated duties consistent with his/her scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care delivery.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance during surgical procedures
- Maintain aseptic technique throughout procedures
- Set up required equipment and sterile supplies for assigned cases
- Pull and break down cases as needed
- Know instrumentation, equipment and supply needs for all types of surgical procedures
Requirements
- Current AHA or ARC BLS Certification
- State of Colorado Surgical Registry required (DORA)
- Current CST Certification from NBSTSA preferred
- Graduate of Certification program for Operating Room Technicians
- 3 or more years of experience as a Surgery Technician preferred
Skills
- Advanced knowledge in the scrub role
- Demonstrated proficiency in multiple service lines/specialties
- Good organizational skills
- Positive and professional communication with internal and external customers
- Authorization to handle medications, syringes, needles, etc.
Pay
Hourly Wage Estimate: $26.65 – $41.10 per hour. The estimate represents the typical wage range of candidates hired. Factors that may determine your actual salary include specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees in this role. The typical candidate is hired below the midpoint of the range.
