Surgical Technologist Lead

Responsibilities

• Acts as a clinical resource for perioperative services personnel within the specialty using professional guidelines and evidence-based standards.
• Demonstrates proficiency in utilization and application of the electronic medical record, instrument management system, tissue management system, integration, navigation, and all intraoperative technology and software.
• Collaborates with the surgical team to coordinate perioperative patient care, including participation in staffing and scheduling requirements.
• Manages surgical case management with the surgical team, including timely review of the surgical schedule and revisions to procedure cards.
• Provides mentorship and consultation to the perioperative team, advising on areas of specialty expertise.
• Assists in evaluating and improving perioperative team education specific to the specialty.
• Facilitates or serves as a member of a multidisciplinary team in planning perioperative patient care related to the specialty area.
• Manages the specialty operationally and fiscally, including new product submissions and annual Capital Budget requests.
• Collects and analyzes data to facilitate collaboration and negotiation with stakeholders.

Requirements

• Pennsylvania Clearances required upon hire and must be maintained for the duration of employment: PA FBI Fingerprint Report, PA Criminal Background Record, PA Child Abuse Clearance.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery – Certified (NCCT) required upon hire and must be maintained for the duration of employment in this role.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required upon hire and must be maintained for the duration of employment.
