Surgical Technologist Inpatient | Surgery

About the Role

This position supports professional nursing staff and physicians during surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, assisting with instrument handling, maintaining a sterile environment, and ensuring proper equipment setup and sterilization.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the OR for surgeries, organize instruments, and set up equipment for both routine and emergency cases.
• Assist surgeons as a scrub person, maintaining sterility and handling instruments efficiently.
• Help circulate nurses with instrument, needle, and sponge accountability.
• Operate sterilization and surgical equipment following safety and quality standards.
• Verify correct implants and assist with patient transport to the OR.
• Participate in training and orientation of new staff and students.
• Perform decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical tools.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program.
• Preferred certification as a Certified Surgical Tech (CST).
• Excellent communication, visual acuity, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to adhere to safety, infection control, and operational procedures.
