Surgical Technologist I

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to surgical team during the intra-operative phase.
• Create an aseptic, safe, appropriately equipped and functional surgical environment.
• Prepare the operating room, supply and assemble instruments, maintain sterile fields, handle instruments, and initiate counts throughout procedures.
• Perform surgical technician duties, including on-call duties as needed or required.

Qualifications

• Equal to completion of 4 years of high school plus additional specialized courses or training is required.
• Graduation from an approved Surgical Technology Program is required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist credential administered by a nationally recognized surgical technologist certifying body accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies and recognized by the American College of Surgeons and the Association of Surgical Technologists within 12 months of graduation from program or within 6 months of hire if greater than 12 months from graduation.
• Certification in Basic Life Support is required.
• One (1) year of related work experience is preferred.
