Surgical Technologist I - 1.0 FTE

Responsibilities

• Prepares for surgical procedures and assists surgeons by passing instruments and supplies, holding retractor and anticipating needs during surgical procedures.
• Affords assistance in orienting new personnel to the scrubbing role.

Requirements

• Completion of a Surgical Tech Associates degree program.
• Ability to rotate shifts and / or work flexible hours to meet patient care needs.
• Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.
• Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact effectively with interdisciplinary health team members and consumers.
• The ability to stand for long periods of time for up to 85% of work time, and lift and move large pieces of equipment weighing up to 60 pounds.
• The ability to represent the organization and serve consumers in a professional manner and promote a positive image of the organization and its services.

Qualifications

• This position requires an every other weekend rotation.
• This position is (4) 10 hour shifts from 6:50am until 5:20pm, with rotating off day.
• Orientation lasts approximately 6 months.
• This position also includes weekday, weekend and holiday call requirements (must report to the hospital within 30 mins).
