Surgical Technologist (CST) - Ambulatory Surgery Center
Position Summary
Be part of our Same Day Surgery Center Team in Burnsville with occasional travel to other Same Day Surgery Center(s) as needed. We are looking for team members to support our growing services, with opportunities to provide patient care in our Surgery Center(s).
About the Role
We have a fast-paced multi-specialty Surgical Center. Our team is looking for candidates with a positive outlook and ability to work well on a team. The Surgical Tech (CST) position practices under the direction of a Registered Nurse in an autonomous and collegial manner, integrating, critical thinking skills, commitment, creativity and caring.
Responsibilities
- Supports the growing services in the Surgical Center.
- Collaborates with charge nurses, materials, sterile processing departments and outside vendors to ensure all elements needed have arrived for surgery.
- Spends the other 40-60% of time in the operating room as a surgical technician.
- Resource mentor for new staff and onboards and precepts new staff in the operating room.
- Subject matter expert on the instrumentation needs in the operating room.
- Collaborates and coordinates in the sterile processing department.
Requirements
- Must be certified through one of the following Surgical Technologist Programs: CST or NCCT at time of hire or obtain the certification within 12 or 36 months of hire.
- 2-3 years of Surgical tech experience required.
- 2-3 years of Sterile processing experience.
- Practical knowledge of surgical instrumentation and equipment of orthopedic surgical procedures.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of aseptic technique and sterilization methods.
- Demonstrated knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current CPR skills or BLS certification.

Highest level of professionalism, excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and ability to work independently.
