Role Overview
Provides surgical technology support for both direct and indirect patient care, assisting surgeons during operative and invasive procedures. Acts as a resource, trains new technologists and students, and functions as an informal lead when needed. Utilizes advanced knowledge to mentor peers, improve efficiency, and elevate performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepares instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgeon-specific procedures, ensuring readiness and proper setup.
- Performs scrubbing on a variety of procedures, adapting to surgeon preferences and handling routine and emergency cases confidently.
- Anticipates intraoperative needs, manages unexpected events, and provides appropriate interventions.
- Mentors staff and students, demonstrating critical thinking and intraoperative decision-making.
- Communicates effectively with team members, shares knowledge, and collaborates to ensure case success.
- Participates in on-call duties and maintains flexibility for scheduling needs.
Qualifications & Skills
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days.
- Associate’s degree or certification in Surgical Technology.
- Willingness to accept new graduates.
- Strong technical skills, adaptability, teamwork, and effective communication.
