- Provide assistance to the surgeon during surgical procedures, including preparing and organizing operating room instruments and supplies.
- Anticipate the surgeon's needs during a procedure.
- Manage and maintain sterile instrumentation.
- Work closely with surgeons, anesthesia, nurses, as well as other healthcare personnel.
- Manage and re-process endoscopes.
Department Details
We are a Critical Access Hospital in a rural setting. This position is an integral part of our surgical team. We care for patients undergoing a variety of procedures including GI endoscopy, General surgery, and outreach surgeons. Experience as a CST is preferred, but we are willing to train the right applicant.
This position typically works 6:30am-3:00pm, has call obligations of 1-2 nights per work week and every 3-4 weekends with 1-2 holidays per year. Scheduled work hours will vary depending on patient needs.
Qualifications
A graduate of an associate's program in Surgical Technology Certification as a surgical technician is required at hire or expected to be completed within 1 year of employment.

- Perform a variety of tasks including scrubbing for cases, reprocessing and managing sterile instrumentation, handling, maintaining, and re-processing endoscopic equipment, and ordering/maintaining supplies related to surgery.
- Work closely with surgeons, anesthesia, nurses, as well as other healthcare personnel.
- Great communication skills, a willingness to learn, and work well by yourself as well as in a team environment are a must.
- An ability to operate various operating room equipment/supplies and an ability to type and use a computer.
- A sense of responsibility and a high degree of knowledge for maintaining sterile technique and sterile field management are required.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality.

Pay & Schedule
Salary Range: $24.00 - $38.50 Pay Info: Sign On Bonus Available!
Shift: 8 Hours - Day Shifts
Weekly Hours: 32.00
