Responsibilities
- Function under the direction of the registered professional nurse to assist in safe and effective patient care.
- Prepare the operative suite and surgical field while maintaining strict adherence to sterile field protocols.
- Gather required instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team for an efficient, organized workflow.
- Exhibit expertise in progressively complex surgical cases and develop additional skills over time.
- Troubleshoot instruments and equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance surgical outcomes.
- Avoid night shifts, weekends, or calls.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program with a current certification.
- Clinical experience with surgical instrumentation and procedures.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or ACLS certification.
- Strong understanding of surgical technology, medical terminology, and sterile techniques.
- Ability to troubleshoot instruments and equipment efficiently.
- Work collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, and healthcare staff to ensure seamless operations.
- Maintain a safe, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive environment for patients.
- Anticipate surgical needs and ensure smooth case flow.
- Willingness to mentor, precept, and train others in various surgical modalities.
Qualifications
- Flexible to travel within 20 to 30-mile radius from their home of residence and assist in both Tampa, Hudson, and future Florida locations.
- Organizational skills to manage inventory and ensure compliance with safety protocols and best practices.

- Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot instruments and equipment.
- Team player to work collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, and healthcare staff.

Schedule
- Monday - Friday Morning Shift - 8 AM - 5 PM
- 2-4 Surgery Days per Week (Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu)
