Surgical Case Preparation

Aids in preparing the surgical case by creating the sterile field, operating specialized instruments or equipment, and ensuring proper supply levels are maintained to provide quality health care services.

Maintains patient safety by performing surgical counts, checking instrument and equipment condition, and handling specimens safely.

Quality and Patient Safety

Maintains high quality health care services by implementing infection control techniques and monitoring potential breaches in technique.

Demonstrates and maintains clinical competency in delivering patient care services.

Efficiently uses equipment, supplies, facilities, and resources to support departmental operations and high-quality health care services.

Adheres to departmental and hospital policies, procedures, and safety, quality assurance, and infection control standards.

Collaboration and Partnership

Facilitates the surgical procedure by anticipating the surgeon's needs and providing reliable technological assistance.

Participates in educational programs, in-service meetings, and training sessions to share expertise and enhance the quality of education and personal growth for new personnel, volunteers, and interning students.
