Job Summary
Certified Surgical Technologist Radiation/Oncology
40 hours - 4 10 hour shifts no weekends, call or holidays

About the Role
Under supervision, assists in operations. May help set up the operating room, prepare and transport patients for surgery, adjust lights and equipment, pass instruments and other supplies to surgeons and surgeons' assistants, hold retractors, cut sutures, and help count sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments. Attainment of extra supplies and equipment as needed.
Sets up equipment independently.
Monitor and continually assess operating room conditions, including patient and surgical team needs.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning patients on the operating table and covering them with sterile surgical drapes to prevent exposure.
- Knowledge of SPD Sterile Room.
Qualifications
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of SPD Sterile Room.
- Ability to multitask, can work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Advanced knowledge of sterile processing procedures and policies.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required.
- Education:
- A High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Licenses and Credentials:
- Certified Surgical Technologist [CST]
- National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) preferred.
- Experience:
- Experience as a surgical technologist in an acute care setting 2-3 years preferred and Four (4) years experience as a surgical technologist in an acute care setting.
