Surgical Technician - Midshift

Role Overview

The OR Tech I is a member of the surgical team, working under a Registered Nurse to assist with patient care before, during, and after surgery. They collaborate with surgeons and RNs to ensure efficient surgical procedures across various service lines.

Responsibilities And Skills

• Assist in surgical procedures, ensuring proper setup and sterilization
• Maintain proficiency in scrubbing for diverse specialties including robotics, vascular, neurovascular, orthopedics, trauma, and more
• Communicate effectively with team members and patients
• Work independently, multitask, and adapt to changing priorities

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a Surgical Technician training program
• 2-3 years of surgical technician experience
• Certification as a Surgical Technician and NBSTSA certification
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association

Key Duties

• Support surgical procedures in various specialties
• Ensure safety, sterilization, and proper handling of equipment
• Collaborate with the surgical team to deliver quality patient care
• Participate in on-call, holiday, and weekend coverage as needed
