Role Overview
The OR Tech I is a member of the surgical team, working under a Registered Nurse to assist with patient care before, during, and after surgery. They collaborate with surgeons and RNs to ensure efficient surgical procedures across various service lines.
Responsibilities And Skills
- Assist in surgical procedures, ensuring proper setup and sterilization
- Maintain proficiency in scrubbing for diverse specialties including robotics, vascular, neurovascular, orthopedics, trauma, and more
- Communicate effectively with team members and patients
- Work independently, multitask, and adapt to changing priorities
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a Surgical Technician training program
- 2-3 years of surgical technician experience
- Certification as a Surgical Technician and NBSTSA certification
- Current BLS Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association
Key Duties
- Support surgical procedures in various specialties
- Ensure safety, sterilization, and proper handling of equipment
- Collaborate with the surgical team to deliver quality patient care
- Participate in on-call, holiday, and weekend coverage as needed
