Surgical Technician II

About the role

Seeking a Surgical Technician to support the surgical team in a procedural environment. This role involves assisting with equipment setup, ensuring proper functioning of instruments, maintaining a sterile environment, and managing specimens accurately.

Responsibilities

• Preparing for procedures
• Handling supplies
• Labeling medications
• Performing procedural counts
• Participating in patient safety protocols
• Attending training sessions
• Following infection control policies
• Working independently to meet deadlines
• Performing other duties as assigned to ensure optimal patient care and safety

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program
• Preferred: One year of surgical technician experience
• Required: Surgical Technician Certification by recognized boards or military programs
• Required: BLS certification (obtained within 90 days)

Skills & Knowledge

• Knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, aseptic techniques, and specimen handling
• Ability to work independently
• Demonstrate dexterity
• Follow safety standards
