Surgical Technician*

About the role

Madison Regional Health System is seeking a full‑time or part‑time Surgical Technician in the Operating Room to support its mission of providing quality healthcare close to home.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients of various ages: infant, children, adolescent, adult, and geriatric
• Function as a surgical tech during operative and other invasive procedures
• Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures in a timely fashion
• Assist the surgeon during surgical procedures
• Maintain a sterile field at all times in the procedure area
• Work in a clean, well‑lighted environment involving sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and frequent repetitive hand/wrist motions
• Handle unpleasant environmental situations arising from patient care or activity
• Be exposed to infectious disease, body fluids, odors, and dust
• Opportunity to build skillset by working in various departments such as medical, surgical, and emergency room areas

Requirements

• Experience is necessary for this position

Qualifications

• South Dakota surgical technician license
• CPR certification

Pay

• Competitive salary
• Retention pay after more than one year of service
• Shift differential pay for hours 6 pm‑6 am Monday‑Friday, weekends, and holidays

Schedule

• 8‑hour shifts with call availability to balance home life
• Shift differential applies 6 pm‑6 am Monday‑Friday, weekends, and holidays
