About the role

Stony Brook University's Department of Pathology is seeking a faculty member to serve with responsibilities and duties in Surgical Pathology and medical education. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience and academic record. This is a non-tenure track, FLSA‑exempt position.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic services in Surgical Pathology.
• Participate in the medical education of medical students, pathology residents, and clinical fellows.

Qualifications

Required:

• MD, DO (or foreign equivalent).
• American Board of Pathology board eligible or certified in Anatomic Pathology.
• Eligibility for New York State licensure.
• Strong diagnostic skills.
• Potential to serve as an outstanding educator of medical students, pathology residents, and clinical fellows.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred:

• Fellowship training in Surgical Pathology or a sub‑specialty area (breast, gynecologic, head & neck, bone and soft tissue, GU or GI pathology).
• In lieu of fellowship, demonstrated expertise in a surgical pathology sub‑specialty.
• Demonstrated scholarly contributions in clinical/translational research.
• Experience in medical education.
