What We're Looking For

A Licensed Physician (MD) with a current, active license to practice medicine in the State of Louisiana. Fellowship trained in Surgical Oncology or Hepatobiliary Surgery. Robotics training is required! Minimum of 3 years of active medical practice preferred. MD privileges at Baton Rouge General Medical Center required. State of Louisiana and Federal DEA certification required. Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery.

Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and an effective problem-solver. Knowledge of legal, ethical, and regulatory standards for the delivery of medical care. Commitment to patient-centered care, quality outcomes, and continuous improvement.

What You Will Do

  • Provides and manages direct health care for a specified patient population while delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centered medical care.
  • Provide and manage direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
  • Examine patients using medical instruments and diagnostic equipment.
  • Obtain and document comprehensive patient medical histories.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests, laboratory studies, and imaging examinations.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Prescribe medications, therapies, and treatment regimens as appropriate.
  • Educate patients and families regarding disease prevention, wellness, nutrition, hygiene, and healthy lifestyle practices.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and patient safety practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
