Responsibilities
- Provide a full range of cancer care to patients in office, outpatient, or inpatient settings, including the expected mix of patient problems and surgical approaches.
- Provide non-trauma on-call coverage for Legacy Hospitals.
- Conduct office follow-up for cancer patients and provide consultations on cancer-related issues.
- Participate in Legacy Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement programs and relevant committees.
- Engage in community outreach activities for Legacy’s Cancer Services.
- Complete medical records, coding, billing, and other required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Work with adult and elderly/geriatric patients.
- Collaborate with other specialists to develop a comprehensive Legacy Cancer program.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a four-year U.S. Medical School or equivalent.
- Completion of General Surgery residency.
- Board Certified in General Surgery.
- Board fellowship in Surgical Oncology or equivalent experience.
- Medical License in applicable state.
- BLS for Provider certification from the American Heart Association (required).
- ATLS (preferred).
