Responsibilities
- Maintains surgical schedules for the practice.
- Obtains authorizations when needed.
- Synchronizes with hospitals to arrange for patient pre-op testing, medical clearances, etc.
- Triage patient phone calls appropriately for office visits, tests, surgeries, and other encounters.
- Prepares patients’ charts and files related patient records.
- Contact and confirm dates and time of procedures with patients.
- Maintains Physician’s weekly schedule.
- Coordinates academic meetings, including travel arrangements.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A high school diploma is required.
- Minimum of six months job-related experience or equivalent is required.
- Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and ability to calculate and collect cash transactions.
- Must possess good interpersonal skills, including excellent communication skills and ability to deal effectively with staff, physicians, and patients in a courteous manner.
