Surgical Coordinator, Physician Practice

Responsibilities

• Maintains surgical schedules for the practice.
• Obtains authorizations when needed.
• Synchronizes with hospitals to arrange for patient pre-op testing, medical clearances, etc.
• Triage patient phone calls appropriately for office visits, tests, surgeries, and other encounters.
• Prepares patients’ charts and files related patient records.
• Contact and confirm dates and time of procedures with patients.
• Maintains Physician’s weekly schedule.
• Coordinates academic meetings, including travel arrangements.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A high school diploma is required.
• Minimum of six months job-related experience or equivalent is required.
• Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and ability to calculate and collect cash transactions.
• Good interpersonal skills, including excellent communication skills and ability to deal effectively with staff, physicians, and patients in a courteous manner.
