About the Role
The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures for high volume urology office. This role serves as a liaison between physicians, patients, hospitals and ambulatory centers. Ensuring efficient scheduling, accurate documentation and patient service.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for scheduling and coordinating surgical procedures, including hospital based and outpatient surgeries
- Coordinate surgery dates, times and location with patients and physicians
- Complete and submit surgical scheduling forms and documentation accurately and timely
- Verify insurance eligibility and prior authorizations as needed
- Respond to patient inquiries regarding surgery prep, scheduling, insurance requirements and facility information
- Keep open communication between doctors and surgical patients
- Provide patients with pre-operative and post-operative instructions and schedule post op appointments
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- One plus year(s) experience in a medical office setting required.
- Ability to sit, stand, and communicate to patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Superior Telephone, computer, and typing skills
- Medical system experience
- Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
