Surgical Assistant

About the role

The office, Denver Metro OMS, is seeking a talented surgical assistant to join our busy specialty practice. We are looking for a talented and skilled Surgical Assistant to help us improve the lives of our patients by providing a world-class specialty experience for every patient.

Responsibilities

• Ensure excellent patient service and lift administrative and basic dental tasks off the Dentist’s shoulders.
• Absorb and anticipate the surgeon's needs and assist as required during procedures.
• Keep surgical areas and instruments clean and sterilized.
• Maintain patient vitals and ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Prepare and provide post-operative instructions and materials to patients.
• Help maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the surgeon or office manager.

Requirements

• Ability to work from 7:00 or 7:30 AM to 5:00–5:15 PM. The day off is floating rather than a fixed weekday.

Qualifications

• At least 1-2 years of experience as surgical assistant, specialty is preferred.
• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods.
• Understanding of health & safety regulations.
• Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks.
• Good computer skills.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• A strong attention to detail.
• Well-organized and reliable.
• A high school diploma.
• A certificate from an accredited surgical assistant program (if required by law).
• An active state radiology license (if required by law).
