Randolph Center for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in Hackettstown is seeking an experienced surgical dental assistant to join our fast-paced oral surgery practice. We aim to improve the lives of our patients by providing a world-class specialty experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure excellent patient service and handle administrative and basic dental tasks to support the dentist.
  • Address patients' needs, concerns, and questions, keeping them relaxed and comfortable during their visit.
  • Prepare the surgical area, instruments, and equipment before each procedure.
  • Assist the surgeon during procedures by anticipating needs and providing support as required.
  • Assist with implant placement, IV sedation cases, and radiographs.
  • Keep surgical areas and instruments clean and sterilized.
  • Monitor and record patient vitals, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Prepare and provide post-operative instructions and materials to patients.
  • Help maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and infection control protocols.
  • Facilitate and coordinate other office responsibilities as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the surgeon or office manager.

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Requirements

  • At least 3+ years of experience as a surgical assistant with dental assisting experience; oral surgery experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • A strong attention to detail.
  • Well-organized and reliable.
  • A high school diploma.
  • A certificate from an accredited surgical assistant program (if required by law).
  • An active state radiology license (if required by law).
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Ability to assist patients safely in and out of chairs or treatment areas.
  • Ability to maintain clinical positioning for extended periods.
  • Ability to work around medical equipment and instruments.
  • Ability to adhere to OSHA and infection control standards.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements.
  • Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.

Pay

Position Base Pay Range: $27 USD - $30 USD
