Randolph Center for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in Hackettstown is seeking an experienced surgical dental assistant to join our fast-paced oral surgery practice. We aim to improve the lives of our patients by providing a world-class specialty experience.
Responsibilities
- Ensure excellent patient service and handle administrative and basic dental tasks to support the dentist.
- Address patients' needs, concerns, and questions, keeping them relaxed and comfortable during their visit.
- Prepare the surgical area, instruments, and equipment before each procedure.
- Assist the surgeon during procedures by anticipating needs and providing support as required.
- Assist with implant placement, IV sedation cases, and radiographs.
- Keep surgical areas and instruments clean and sterilized.
- Monitor and record patient vitals, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare and provide post-operative instructions and materials to patients.
- Help maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and infection control protocols.
- Facilitate and coordinate other office responsibilities as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the surgeon or office manager.
Schedule
- Monday - Friday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Requirements
- At least 3+ years of experience as a surgical assistant with dental assisting experience; oral surgery experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks.
- Good computer skills.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- A strong attention to detail.
- Well-organized and reliable.
- A high school diploma.
- A certificate from an accredited surgical assistant program (if required by law).
- An active state radiology license (if required by law).
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Ability to assist patients safely in and out of chairs or treatment areas.
- Ability to maintain clinical positioning for extended periods.
- Ability to work around medical equipment and instruments.
- Ability to adhere to OSHA and infection control standards.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements.
- Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.

Pay
Position Base Pay Range: $27 USD - $30 USD
