Surgery Scheduling Pre-Authorization Specialist

Position Summary
The essential function is to be responsible for obtaining appropriate insurance benefit information, referrals and authorizations prior to a patient's appointment. Also responsible for the clerical duties for scheduling surgeries and patient care support activities at the direction of the Site Manager and physician/provider.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to pay attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of insurance rulings and guidelines
- Knowledge of insurance reviews
- Basic knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding
- Good verbal and communication skills
- Good computer and telephone skills
- Exercise’s good judgment and decision making as well as problem solving
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly
Total Rewards
Expected pay for this position is $18.80 - $22.12/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.
