Durango Outpatient Surgery Center is a fast-paced Ambulatory Surgery Center committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families. We have 5 operating rooms offering a full range of surgical procedures including: Bariatrics, Colorectal, General Surgery/Robotics, GI, OB/Gynecology, Sports Medicine, Orthopedic, Pain Management, Podiatry, and Spine.

The Surgery Scheduler plays a vital role in a successful surgical procedure. The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for daily maintenance of the surgery schedule and all aspects of the scheduling process. This includes strategizing and problem solving and ensuring high levels of customer service with scheduling coordinators from all doctors' offices and operating room staff. Successful candidate will possess outstanding leadership, communication and customer service skills as well as the ability to diffuse difficult scheduling conflicts efficiently with strategy. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate previous successful/positive customer service encounters or programs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the daily surgery schedule and manage all aspects of the scheduling process
• Strategize and problem-solve to resolve scheduling conflicts efficiently
• Ensure high levels of customer service with scheduling coordinators from physicians' offices and operating room staff
• Demonstrate outstanding leadership, communication, and customer service skills
• Diffuse difficult scheduling conflicts with effective strategy

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2+ years of hospital or medical office experience required
• Surgery scheduling experience preferred
• Excellent phone etiquette and exceptional customer service skills
• Ability to communicate verbally and non-verbally in a professional manner
• Ability to use time wisely in preparing work area to meet fast-paced demand
• Professional appearance
• Strong medical terminology experience
