About the Opportunity

The Surgery Scheduler plays a crucial role in the Surgical Oncology team by providing administrative support to surgeons across all divisions. This position coordinates surgical schedules, manages patient interactions concerning non-clinical matters, and ensures efficient logistics for surgical procedures. The role supports patient care coordination across multiple specialties and locations, contributing to streamlined surgical workflow and patient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage clinical workload including answering patient calls and directing inquiries appropriately.
  • Schedule patient surgeries across multiple metro Denver locations using Epic.
  • Obtain and upload necessary patient documents before appointments and surgeries.
  • Cookordinate treatment care plans across various locations and specialties.
  • Manage surgical procedure schedules for assigned physicians.
  • Perform administrative assistant duties such as handling correspondence.
  • Respond to special patient requests including self-pay estimates and scheduling clinic visits.
  • Generate and send letters to patients and referring physicians via Epic.
  • Confirm upcoming surgery dates and appointments with patients.
  • Attend meetings to communicate key scheduling information.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • Minimum 2 years healthcare experience with complex patient scheduling.
  • Experience with Epic preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and professional phone etiquette.
  • Knowledge of medical front office operations and terminology.
  • Familiarity with insurance plans and ICD/CPT coding.

Pay Range and Compensation Package

The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
