Surgery Scheduler

About the role

The Surgery Scheduler plays a critical role in coordinating and scheduling surgical appointments and follow-up care for multiple physicians at Virginia Mason Medical Center. This position ensures a seamless and efficient process for patients undergoing urological procedures, from initial scheduling through post-operative care.

Responsibilities

• Perform crucial pre-operative and post-operative data entry
• Assemble chart materials
• Meticulously provide patients with all necessary information regarding their upcoming procedures
• Manage complex schedules
• Ensure accurate documentation
• Facilitate a positive surgical journey for urology patients

Requirements

• Two (2) years experience in a medical office environment with knowledge of medical surgical terminology
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to use a computer
• Strong organizational skills
• The ability to work under pressure
• The ability to participate as a member of a team
• Reliability and punctuality
• Excellent customer service and public relations skills

Preferred

• Experience with IBM/Cerner/IDX applications
