Surgery Scheduler
About the role
As a surgery scheduler at DMOS, you will work in-office to guide patients through their orthopaedic journey by scheduling follow-up appointments, assisting with surgery scheduling, and submitting prior authorizations for procedures. This is a full-time, clinic-hour position where you will work alongside a team of patient care navigators and clinical staff members to create an outstanding patient experience.
To thrive in this role, you are able to recall information quickly and prioritize tasks accordingly. The position involves sitting at a desk for extended periods of time.
Responsibilities
- Act as the patient's guide and reliable helper for scheduling surgery and any necessary follow-up care.
- Utilize Office 365 products to organize physician surgery schedules, insurance prior authorizations, and communicate with hospital and ambulatory surgery center staff.
- Ensure outstanding patient experiences throughout their orthopaedic journey in a private practice setting.
Requirements
- Calm demeanor with the ability to communicate calmly with patients and physicians.
- High-level of professionalism when interacting with patients and clinical staff members.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while staying organized.
- Strong listening skills, including asking clarifying questions and avoiding interruptions.
- Prior exposure to patient care coordination.
- Dependability to ensure patients receive timely care and support overall team efficiency.
