Responsibilities

• Coordinates and schedules surgeries and follow-up appointments for multiple providers.
• Performs pre-operative and post-operative data entry.
• Provides patients with necessary information.
• Arranges for referrals to other providers when required.
• Provides information and education to patients, providers, and insurance companies as needed.
• Works with Central Access to obtain prior authorization from insurance companies for procedures, diagnostic studies, etc.
• Provides support and training to office personnel.

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Completion of Medical Assistant certification, LPN, or higher level program preferred; if not, Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) training required with certification completed within 12 months of hire.
• Experience: Three years’ experience in a medical clinic or hospital; Working knowledge of medical/surgical terminology, third-party payor requirements, electronic scheduling systems, and electronic medical record systems preferred; Training as Medical Assistant preferred.
• Licensure/Credentials: MA-C, LPN, RN, or CPOE required (incumbent will have 12 months to obtain CPOE if necessary).

Pay

• Pay Range: $21.93 - $32.37
• Shift Differentials/Premiums: Evening - $3.00/hour; Night - $5.00/hour; Weekend - $4.50/hour; Per Diem - 15% (on rate of pay, in lieu of benefits); Lead - $3.25/hour; On-Call - $3.00/hour; Preceptor - $1.50/hour; Trainer - $1.50/hour; Weekend & Holiday Shifts: No Shift Differentials
