Surgery Coordinator Specialist

About the role

Will provide coordination services for complex surgical events, including care coordination beyond surgery scheduling, evaluation, and post-surgical support. Will also assist with patient and family needs, such as addressing funding concerns, coordinating appointments, and facilitating communication with the provider team.

Responsibilities

• First point of contact for patient families, providing initial evaluations and support
• Coordinate pre-, post-, and ancillary tests and appointments
• Facilitate access to and continuity of care for patients and families
• Assist families with resolving funding concerns
• Afford families with PCP notifications
• Interact with provider teams, staff, patients, and families to ensure smooth transitions during surgical events

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience
• Minimum one (1) year experience as a Surgery Coordinator (or equivalent experience in a leadership role)
• Minimum of two (2) years experience as a Family Service Coordinator or equivalent clinical reception/coordinator experience

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of Medical Terminology
• Associate’s Degree or at least two (2) years of college coursework in health care or related field (preferred)
• Significant experience (4 years or more) working with the general public in a health care/customer service environment
• Familiarity with other cultures/bilingual skills (preferred)

$26.51 - $39.76 per hour
