About the role
Will provide coordination services for complex surgical events, including care coordination beyond surgery scheduling, evaluation, and post-surgical support. Will also assist with patient and family needs, such as addressing funding concerns, coordinating appointments, and facilitating communication with the provider team.
Responsibilities
- First point of contact for patient families, providing initial evaluations and support
- Coordinate pre-, post-, and ancillary tests and appointments
- Facilitate access to and continuity of care for patients and families
- Assist families with resolving funding concerns
- Afford families with PCP notifications
- Interact with provider teams, staff, patients, and families to ensure smooth transitions during surgical events
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- Minimum one (1) year experience as a Surgery Coordinator (or equivalent experience in a leadership role)
- Minimum of two (2) years experience as a Family Service Coordinator or equivalent clinical reception/coordinator experience
Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Associate’s Degree or at least two (2) years of college coursework in health care or related field (preferred)
- Significant experience (4 years or more) working with the general public in a health care/customer service environment
- Familiarity with other cultures/bilingual skills (preferred)

- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare systems
