Responsibilities
- Facilitating patient care by assisting the physician during surgery in the Operating Room (OR) for multiple specialties.
- Performing technical and some patient care duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Functions as a clinical specialist across numerous service specialty lines.
- Absorbs additional responsibilities for maintaining surgical specialties as necessary and serves as a resource.
- Functions on a more global level and is more involved in detailed surgical endeavors related to the surgery department.
Qualifications
- Education:
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
- Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or LPN program Required
- Work Experience:
- 3 years of experience and Surgical Tech Certification Required
- In lieu of degree, 7 years of experience can be substituted for certification for a total requirement of 10 years of Surgical Tech experience.
- Licenses and Certifications:
- BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
- LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure Current GA LPN License, if applicable Upon Hire Required
- CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Upon Hire Required
