Responsibilities
- Facilitating patient care by assisting the physician during surgery in the Operating Room (OR) for multiple specialties.
- Performing technical and some patient care duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Functions as a clinical specialist across numerous service specialty lines.
- Affords additional responsibilities for maintaining surgical specialties as necessary.
- Serves as a resource.
- Functions on a more global level and is more involved in detailed surgical endeavors related to the surgery department.
Qualifications
- Education: H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or LPN program Required.
- Work Experience: 3 years of experience and Surgical Tech Certification Required or In lieu of degree 7 years of experience can be substituted for certification for a total requirement of 10 years of Surgical Tech experience.
- Licenses and Certifications: BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure Current GA LPN License, if applicable Upon Hire Required or CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Upon Hire Required.
