Surface Prep Technician

About the Role

Surface Experts is a national franchise focused on building outstanding teams and solving customer problems by reducing waste of time, money, and materials. We are growing our local team and seeking a Surface Prep Technician to help establish and lead a nationally recognized market for surface repair as an alternative to replacement.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces through sanding, masking, and priming procedures to ensure smooth and flawless results.
• Use tools and processes for surface primer, filler material, sandpaper grit, masking tape, and other materials.
• Perform tasks including masking and taping protected areas, cleaning surfaces, applying and scraping paint stripper, using DA sanders, and sanding by hand.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols and company guidelines.
• Help clean up around the shop, procure and stock inventory, and assist in other areas as needed.

Requirements

• Experience working with your hands, such as in construction, manufacturing, or a related hobby.
• Facilities maintenance experience is helpful but not required.
• Surface prep or automotive prep and painting experience is a plus.
• Ability to make at least a 2-year commitment due to extensive training.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Commitment to meeting project timelines and delivering high-quality results.
• Customer service experience.
• Flexible, adaptable, and possessing a strong work ethic.
